Every massage treatment is customized to your needs.

Therapeutic Relaxation Massage (light, medium, & deep pressure)

This treatment focuses on relaxing the nervous system. Using a combination of therapeutic and relaxation techniques to release overall tension. Some areas of pain or postural concerns can be addressed during this treatment while prioritizing deep relaxation. Myofascial cupping and friction massage can be included if desired.

Sports Massage (very deep pressure)

This treatment is for those of you that love a more intense massage. We can address areas of tension, pain, or injury during this massage. Myofascial cupping, friction/scraping, deep tissue, and active release techniques can be included to improve range of motion and overall function of movement.

Sessions can include:

Swedish Relaxation

Using long, gliding strokes flowing towards the heart to increase circulation, soften muscle tension, reduce stress, and calm the nervous system.

Deep Tissue

Pressure applied slowly to desired intensity - targeting the deeper layers of muscle and fascia to relieve chronic tension and pain.

Myofascial Cupping

Soft tissue therapy that applies cups (silicone or glass) to the skin to stretch and lift the tissues, providing freedom of movement to the muscles and fascia. Increases circulation, breaks up adhesions, frees connective tissue, increases range of motion, and reduces tension and pain. Can also be helpful for joint decompression.

Dynamic Cupping

Exceptional for myofascial release, circulation, and lymphatic movement. Cups are applied to skin then glided to “separate” the layers of fascia and muscle tissue. Nothing compares to the feeling of dynamic cupping. Even enjoyed by those who don’t like stationary cupping.

Marking with dynamic cupping is rare, but possible in areas of greater tension.

Static/Stationary Cupping

Cups are applied to a specific area of discomfort or pain for 5-20 minutes. Cups can be positioned directly over trigger points or areas of pain. Or multiple cups placed strategically to release fascial lines. “Parking” the cups is a great way to enhance your massage - allowing the cups to promote healing to those tissues while other areas are treated with massage techniques.

Red cupping marks post-treatment is likely with static cupping - every body and every session will have different shades of discoloration - usually fades with 3-14 days.

Scraping/IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization)

Firm but gentle, quick strokes applied to oiled skin with a massage tool (often stainless steel or stone). A variety of benefits include warming the tissues quickly and promoting circulation, breaking up adhesions and scar tissue, releasing restrictions in the myofascial layers to relieve pain, improve mobility, and support injury recovery. Stimulates tissue remodelling and repair - It is normal to have some redness/discoloration post-treatment for a few days, especially in areas of tension or stagnation.

Active Release

A movement based protocol helpful for restoring movement restrictions and patterns, improving overall mobility and injury recovery. It combines deep manual pressure and/or cupping while incorporating movement - active, passive or both. It is helpful to reduce pain caused by postural issues or injury and improve functional movement patterns.

PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)

A form of assisted stretching, either facilitated/partner or done alone. It combines isometric muscle contractions with passive stretching to improve mobility. PNF engages the body’s neuromuscular reflexes which helps the muscles relax deeper into a stretch following contraction within a similar range of motion.

Trigger Point Release

Trigger points are palpable nodules or adhesions in the myofascia often producing local tenderness and referred pain or sensation - we often call these muscle knots. Trigger points can be treated with a combination of scraping, myofascial cupping, and/or long sustained manual pressure.

Postural Analysis

We can assess your body’s alignment pre/post treatment as well as movement patterns throughout your massage if desired. We will work together to improve any postural imbalances you’re focusing on and improve overall mobility and body awareness.

Strengthening/Stretching Exercises

Please request in the appointment notes if you would like time for strengthening or stretching exercises post-treatment.

Important Before & After Massage Care

Take it easy for 24-48hrs following your massage treatment. Avoid strenuous exercise, lifting heaving objects, long travel, or generally rushing - allow your body time to rest, repair, and rejuvenate.

Drink plenty of fluids and consume nourishing meals before and after your massage - important to aid in recovery and feel your best.

Walking or light stretching are supportive forms of movement post-massage.

FIRE cupping

Fire cupping is an ancient healing method where glass cups are heated with a flame to create a vacuum, then applied to the skin. The suction promotes healing to the deeper tissues of the body.

Some of the many benefits of cupping include:

  • Reduction of pain and inflammation

  • Promotes circulation

  • Breaks down adhesions in the muscle tissue and fascia

  • Elongates connective tissue

  • Breaks down scar tissue

  • Remove stagnation and restore the body's natural flow of energy
